The VCS Group of Companies, a Xerox distributor, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The milestone was celebrated at a red carpet event at the Kempinski Seychelles Resort in Mahé, with over 200 employees and guests.
VCS has been on a steady growth trajectory, with its Xerox business alone having achieved year-on-year growth in the higher double digits for several consecutive years.
VCS’s group executive chairman Marc Houareau acknowledged and thanked its directors, shareholders, staff and customers, as well as the company’s banking partners and auditors for the roles they had played in its development and success.
‘We have brought Seychelles a little bit closer to the world as we became the pioneers of technology, and together, we started the digital revolution in our country,’ said Houareau.
VCS has experienced much growth and today employs nearly 170 staff. It operates 13 distinct companies in seven business sectors including automobile, information and communications technology, import and distribution, marketing and publishing, printing, travel and tourism and investment.
The Group, which has several offices, showrooms and warehouses on Mahé and Praslin also represents some of the world’s most recognised brands such as BMW, Chevrolet, Honda, Isuzu, Peugeot, Diageo, Bacardi, Microsoft, Xerox and many others. The companies within the group are Autoland, Crown Motors, Executive Cars, Executive Motors, Honda (Seychelles), iMedia, Island Charters, Printhouse, Savy & Sons, Seashell Travel, Switch, Today Publishers as well as the original company, VCS.
Managing director of VCS, Gilbert Lebon, who joined the firm a decade ago said, ‘I am proud to have been part of this great journey as in a mere 10 years, we have created eight new companies and acquired two more, and we will continue to expand our portfolio in the years ahead to ensure that the VCS Group becomes one of the leading companies in the Seychelles.’
‘Being one of our key African partners, VCS has represented the Xerox brand in an excellent manner over the years,’ said Olivier Merven, regional manager for Africa Operations at Bytes Document Solutions (BDS). BDS is the authorised Xerox distributor in 26 sub-Saharan countries and the largest Xerox distributor in the world.
‘VCS’s longevity and outstanding reputation comes as no surprise, given the company’s product knowledge, talent and exceptional customer service levels,’ noted Merven.
