As part of Bytes Document Solutions’ (BDS) social commitment to uplifting communities and society, the company handed over a cheque for over R72000 to the Randburg SPCA, supporting the SPCA’s mission of freedom for animals: freedom from hunger and thirst; freedom from discomfort; freedom from pain injury or diseases; freedom to express their normal behaviour; and freedom from fear and distress.
The contribution from BDS, an authorised Xerox distributor, was a result of a fundraising project embarked on during its annual sales conference where it was decided to incorporate a CSI element into the theme. BDS has had a history of community involvement through which it aims to provide support to worthwhile projects and organisations in order to make a real difference to socio-economic challenges.
Every year, hundreds of animals make their way to the Randburg SPCA where they are cared for 365 days of the year. The SPCA also conducts animal placements, animal rescues and protection. They prosecute people who willfully abuse animals and the organisation runs educational programmes to prevent animal cruelty.
The company’s CEO, Johan Basson, said that the company acknowledges its responsibility towards the communities in which it operates in. Basson applauded the Randburg SPCA for the work they do and commended them for their dedication and commitment to such a good cause.
He also noted that this initiative was made possible mainly by the efforts of BDS’s sales team, spearheaded by Divisional Sales Director of the Xerox Division Warren Mande, who went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that we could give the SPCA as much as possible. It is heartening to be a part of such an amazing team and to know that you are making a difference at the same time, said Basson.
