Midrand-based Hartwood Digital Printing recently invested in a Xerox Versant 3100 and Nuvera 314. The machines were bought through Bytes Document Solutions’ (BDS) authorised service partner XBC-IT.

Hartwood offers a wide range of services including laser and litho printing, large format printing, finishing and design pre-press. Over the past 20 years, the company has grown from a small corner shop printer to an established and well-respected printing company that caters to all printing needs.

The Xerox machines were chosen based on the company’s business model: understanding clients’ demands, quick turnaround and quality. ‘Since investing in the machines, we have seen a big increase in productivity,’ said Hartwood sales manager Lara Artico. She further emphasised that the machines have enabled the company to expand its service offerings.

The Versant 3100 is renowned for its user-friendliness, automating tasks and producing high print resolution. Furthermore, it can print 100 A4 images per minute and includes the options of long production runs or smaller ‘on-the-go’ jobs.

The Nuvera 314, which prints up to 314 A4 images per minute, is a high volume production black and white digital laser machine. It is very quick, and is now considered the hardest working machine in Hartwood’s facility. It includes two high capacity trays, and can continue running while offloading paper. The user can also load a tray while the machine is still running, thereby saving time.

‘We really trust Bytes Document Solutions and feel like they are part of our business,’ said Hartwood marketing manager Graeme Hodge, ‘They have partnered with us through the installation journey, and that partnership speaks volumes.’
