BOBST Announces Plans To Expand Presence In Africa

BOBST is in the process of expanding its presence in Africa with a series of roadshows and the appointment of a new agent. The first two well-attended VIP events took place in January in Ethiopia and Uganda.

The VIP events marked the start of BOBST’s first ever roadshow in these countries, as the company reaffirms its commitment to meeting the needs of this growing market. This includes the recent appointment of Multigraph Machinery (Kenya) Ltd as the new BOBST agent for East Africa.

The inaugural VIP event in Ethiopia took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, in Addis Ababa, on January 26. Over 70 guests enjoyed a comprehensive programme of presentations and discussions covering the latest innovations and sustainability solutions for the print and packaging industry. Meanwhile the Four Points Hotel by Sheraton set the stage in Kampala, Uganda, where 42 attendees gathered on January 29.

On both occasions, the audience was extended a warm welcome by Eric Pavone, BOBST Business Director for the AFMETC region, and S.M. Karnad, Multigraph Machinery’s General Manager Operations for East Africa.

The programme then proceeded with BOBST experts covering the company’s wide range of printing and converting solutions, as well as services, for the production of high quality labels, flexible packaging, folding cartons, and corrugated boxes. The events closed with a Q&A session, before the guests enjoyed a cocktail reception and dinner.

‘The popularity of these first two VIP events reflects the willingness of converters in Africa to seek out innovative solutions that can help them build successful businesses and ensure continued growth,’ said Pavone. ‘We’re very encouraged by the positive feedback which shows that BOBST is delivering these solutions; and it certainly motivates us to further enhance our offerings in the region.’

Commenting on the new partnership with Multigraph Machinery, Pavone added, ‘The strategic agreement with Multigraph further solidifies BOBST’s commitment to enhancing its reach and service capabilities in Africa. It will play a pivotal role in providing localised support to our customers and we look forward to a mutually beneficial collaboration.’
