X-RITE MAKES COLOUR MEASUREMENTS QUICK AND EASY FOR THE DIGITAL SUPPLY CHAIN AT DRUPA 2012

X-Rite will demonstrate a new technology at drupa 2012 that makes colour measurements quick and easy for personnel in the print, publishing and converting industries.

X-Rite representatives will demonstrate how its new solution simplifies workflow with split-second measurement times and improved accuracy and solves the industry-wide problem of matching colours on papers treated with Optical Brightening Agents (OBAs). The instrument is the first spectrophotometer in the industry to support all the M Standards inclusive of the complete M1, offering customers a means to measure true daylight conditions.

With paper costs representing up to 30 percent of most jobs, this new device and its ability to provide the correct spectral information reduces time to colour and paper waste for set up, said Dean Baxendale, president and CEO of J. F Moore Communications in Toronto.

In addition to using advanced measurement technology, the new platform is easy to learn, thanks to the intuitive software and touch screen controls. This is the first solution to connect the supply chain to the PantoneLIVE™ ecosystem, providing a means to meet brand owners’ colour specifications. The platform features embedded X-Rite Graphic Arts Standard (XRGA) that greatly simplifies data agreement with other instruments and the CxF standard for easy data exchange.

This is the simplest device to guarantee colour integrity for brands across all of our print and output platforms, said Warren Werbitt, CEO of Pazazz in Montreal. J.F. Moore and Pazazz are the first two customers in North America to order the new solution.

Attendees of the drupa 2012 show from May 3 -16 in Düsseldorf, Germany can view demonstrations and obtain information on the new platform at X-Rite Pantones stand D23 in Hall 5 of the Düsseldorf Trade Fair Center.
