SAI is Japanese for ‘colourful’ and the Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI-S comes with five or seven colours, allowing it to print colourful labels on a wide variety of substrates, including transparent and metallic material. The SAI-S is also equipped with high-density white.
Italian label specialist Impronta Digitale has expanded its digital inkjet capacity with the installation of a Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI-S 5 colours, the third SCREEN inkjet press it has added. For SCREEN, the new SAI-S installed at Impronta Digitale’s premises is the 100th sold since the introduction of the SAI series in 2020.

Founded in 2013 by Linda and her brother Ludovico Picello, Impronta Digitale prides itself on investing in cutting-edge technology for label printing. The company services a wide range of Italian businesses, from wine producers to pharmaceuticals.
‘What drove us to invest in digital presses is their ability to start production at any moment and produce labels of consistent quality and brilliance on every print run, while remaining competitive in the market,’ Picello explained. ‘Our SAI machines operate 10 hours a day, in two shifts, five days a week, with an average production length of 1000 metres per job – handling print runs from 30 to 10,000 metres. Investing in SCREEN’s technology was the right choice to allow us to grow and improve over time.’
Impronta Digitale uses SCREEN’s EQUIOS software for managing print jobs, enabling what it describes as ‘an industry 4.0-compliant workflow’. EQUIOS is configured to run seamlessly in the background, providing the machine with rapid and automated print data. In addition, the SCREEN TRUST system allows print operators to obtain all analytical information needed to effectively manage production times and resources.
Impronta Digitale bought its first SCREEN printer in 2013 and has continued to trust the Japanese provider of inkjet digital print technology ever since, thanks to what it calls SCREEN’s ‘solid, reliable and high-quality’ products and service.
