Printing SA Hosting Online Information Session On FICA

Printing SA is hosting a Financial Intelligence Centre Act (FICA) Amendments Act information session. Find out if you are an accountable institution in terms of FICA and ensure the owner/s of the business, your business and employees are compliant.

Ulrik Strandvik from Gunston Strandvik Mlambo Attorneys will help to unpack the legislative obligations as it can be difficult to navigate continuously changing policies.

It is important to ensure that businesses:

– Have the necessary legal agreements and policies in place for handling personal and/or sensitive information that may be collected to ensure compliance with FICA.

– Have the proper training to ensure adequate and efficient collection, identification, verification and storage of the documents which allow for compliance with FICA obligations.

It is therefore important to consider the policy implications of such obligations to your business and to obtain legal assistance in respect of the interpretation and implementation of obligations to ensure compliance.

In 2023, South Africa was greylisted by financial crime watchdog, the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), for not fully complying with international standards concerning the prevention of money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. Find out what will this mean for South African businesses and consumers at this free online event.
