Accurate Box Company is a fourth-generation family-run business founded in 1944 and located outside New York in Paterson, New Jersey. This women-owned, customer service-driven company is one of the country’s largest independent manufacturers of litho-laminated packaging.

The single-user interface in Amfortis controls every phase of the print production process, reducing human error through standardised workflows. Assistant prepress manager Daniel Whyte added that the workflow operates more intuitively for new employees, a value-added benefit. ‘We found that Amfortis, in addition to its other functions, is a great asset for quickly training our new team members.’
The integrated Amfortis layout editor contains a complete set of prepress, editing, and quality assurance functions, such as trapping, separation handling, object-based screening, and barcode creation. Amfortis offers features that increase capacity for high-quality litho-laminate print production.
‘Once we invested the time to build our templates, Amfortis gave our team the freedom to drop jobs in and render,’ explained Niskach. ‘We do a brief check, and everything is there. Our folders are set up with the die and item numbers in the job ticket. Operators plug that information into Amfortis and simply drop the PDF into an automated hot ticket, which correctly places the products on the sheet, including all marks such as station numbers, ink eaters, colour bars, and more.’
‘We also reduced mix-up errors by investing in a digital scanner for our die cutter,’ noted Niskach. ‘Amfortis automatically adds a QR code, and that bar code is scanned on every single sheet. If a sheet has the wrong code, production stops. Amfortis eliminates producing box A in the box B print run, reducing remakes while saving time and money.’
