The second edition of the Lenstar Lenticular Print Award was organised in the context of the drupa innovation park (dip) with the support of drupa print media fair 2012, in Düsseldorf. The contest was open to any person or company, active in the field of creating, processing and printing of lenticular images. All visual effects such as flips, animation, zoom, morphing and 3D effects qualify for the award, were printed directly onto the back of lenticular sheets except for the new artistic category. More than 11000 votes were received during drupa.
Daniel Pierret, DP Lenticular, said, We received applications from all the continents and the quality level was very high. Last year, we received about 115 works. In 2012, due to the limitations (one work per category and 3 works per Company) we received a little bit less works (about 80) but the quality was higher due to the selection made by the participants. There are nominees from many different countries like: Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, India, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Russia, United Kingdom and the USA.
The Awards Ceremony of the Lenstar Lenticular Print Award supported by drupa 2012 (LLPA) took place on 4 May at 17H in the drupa innovation park. The winners for each of the six categories received an LLPA Trophy created by Dublin Crystal and an official certificate.

Barry Johnson, President of the Jury, said, The very high difference in votes shows that the winning piece was incontestably appreciated by the public. We are happy to see the results as the winning piece was also appreciated by the jury but was not awarded. This Award is well deserved! Congratulations to 3D Contact and all the participants.
