Kemtek Print Solutions has been named Scodix Partner of the Year 2011 at the annual Scodix international supplier conference held in Israel.

‘With four installations in Southern Africa, Kemtek Print Solutions have excelled in putting the Scodix brand on the map,’ said Dror Danai, Scodix VP Sales.

Gavin van Rensburg, CEO of Kemtek Print Solutions, collected the coveted award from Kobi Bar, Scodix CEO and Co-Founder. ‘This award is a major accolade for Kemtek Print Solutions as we operate in a small country that is usually very price-sensitive when it comes to capital equipment purchases,’ said van Rensburg.

‘We’ve already installed Scodix machines at Minit Print, Pretoria, Shereno Printers, Boksburg and Veltopak, Parow, Cape Town and EAL, Luanda, Angola. Every customer has been blown-away by the Scodix ground-breaking technology and The Scodix digital enhancement capabilities have allowed these customers to differentiate themselves from their competitors by offering value adds that are unique to Scodix,’ added van Rensburg.

The Scodix 1200 has changed the paradigm on book cover printing and many other applications where added value effects help to increase impact and drive sales. It uses a single-stage inkjet process to apply UV-cured ‘Scodix PolySense’, a unique material with properties that allows deposition of up to 250µm to create a raised effect without the material ‘running’ or definition loss.

It’s a system that’s designed to pass relatively viscous material through very small nozzles without clogging or misfiring and has proven its potential to extend the capabilities of traditional alternatives to 3D print enhancement. Scodix PolySense halftone clear ink can be produced with detail previously impossible, thanks to the Scodix inkjet droplet size. Another highlight is Variable Data Printing (VDP) of the 3D clear ink, which allows operators to create personalised products or short-run versions.

Niran Singh, co-owner of Shereno Printers, Boksburg, had this to say when he purchased a Scodix 1200 in May 2011: ‘The Scodix technology will change the way our customers see print. It replaces conventional embossing and offers top-quality print and texture, never seen before, in short or longer runs. It’s a whole new experience for customers and the creative opportunities are endless.’

‘The Scodix 1200 press has increased throughput at demand to such an extent that Shereno has recently had to purchase its third HP Indigo press from us,’ said van Rensburg
