Fujifilm South Africa Launches Revoria Presses

Fujifilm Graphic Communication South Africa hosted a launch event for the Revoria PC1120/S and SC285/S presses at their head office in Sandton on 15 July. The event brought together commercial printers, dealer partners, and in-house print professionals for a morning of hands-on demonstrations and technology led presentations.

The launch began with a welcome and discussion by Yusuke Hamamura, Managing Director at Fujifilm South Africa. Hamamura highlighted Fujifilm’s current revenue per market segment, with business innovation, including graphic communications, making up 37.5% of Fujifilm’s total revenue in the 2024 fiscal year.

Grant Potgieter, General Manager at Fujifilm Graphic Communication South Africa, shared his hopes for Fujifilm’s public brand image. ‘When I tell people I work for Fujifilm, their first response is usually mentioning our history in the camera and imaging space. My hope for the future is people immediately thinking of our print, cut and graphic communication technologies,’ said Potgieter.

Attendees were invited to explore Fujifilm’s showroom and see live demonstrations of the Revoria PC1120/S and SC285/S presses. Interactive print samples displayed the Revoria Presses’ vibrant output capabilities and streamlined production workflows.

Revoria Press PC1120/S

This high-speed, high-resolution digital toner press is engineered for production environments. It outputs at 120 ppm (pages per minute) for A4 pages, with image clarity at 2400 × 2400 dpi. The press supports a wide substrate range from 52gsm papers up to 40 gsm, and banner media up to 1.2 m long, with a minimum sheet size of 98 × 148 mm.

The Revoria Press PC1120S forms part of Fujifilm’s new mid-range of ‘5uper Colour’ presses, with the Super EA‑Eco specialty toners used as a fifth colour, together with CMYK, to deliver smooth gradations, sharp text and fine detail.

Its 10 colour bit depth, 6 colour station engine allows simultaneous use of the specialty toners, in clear, gold, silver, white, pink, and textured, applied either before or after CMYK in a single pass for creative effects. The system features air-suction feeding, static‑eliminator modules and in-line curl correction. It aids in reliable handling across coated, textured and synthetic substrates.

The press includes inline inspection sensors, automatic calibration, and an AI-powered image optimisation engine that adjusts photo quality and skin tones in real time. Also incorporated are integrated inline finishing options, including trimming, creasing, folding, stapling, and hole-punching.

Revoria Press SC285/S

The press is designed for in-house and small production environments, and delivers up to 85ppm at a resolution of 2400 × 2400dpi on A4 pages. It supports a broad media range from 52 to 400gsm, banner printing up to 1.3m and handling of coated, textured, and synthetic substrates.

Key features include advanced air-suction feeding, twin decurler, real-time registration, and colour correction via Smart Monitoring Gate D1. The SC285S variant model adds a fifth colour station for specialty toners like gold, silver, pink, or clear, enabling high-impact print effects in a single pass.
