The FESPA Foundation has requested the donation of toilet paper and paper to provide for the many rural schools that they support. Toilet paper is a scarce resource in schools across South Africa and the Foundation is inviting volunteers from the printing industry to participate in intitiavites such as this to help improve educational environments and create better opportunities for young people.

You can make a real difference by supporting the valuable work of the FESPA Foundation that aims to use print for good. Participating in the initiative offers more than an opportunity to give back. It allows you and your team to:

– Help improve educational opportunities for children.
– Take part in meaningful team-building experiences.

Please send an email to ntombi.thobela@fespa.com if you have any paper at the office that you are throwing out, or if you would like to donate toilet paper to the schools.

Practical Publishing recently assisted the Foundation with a large donation for Madisei Primary School in Limpopo for Mandela Day, held on 18 July.

A large contribution of toilet paper was also collected by Jean Lloyd Media that will go towards rural schools in the Western Cape.

Jean Lloyd ignited the awareness of this dire need for paper and toilet paper at the rural schools she is working with in the Western Cape. Lloyd was getting video content and interviewing the school principals for the FESPA Foundation when she noticed this.

‘No child should have to worry about if there is toilet paper at school. Yet this is the reality for so many,’ said Lloyd. ‘When you go to the schools it very apparent that they need so much. A big thank you to the team at Trident who collected donation from their employees, as well as Printing SA, Redfern Labels, DigitalView, Colourblind Consulting, Digital Distributors, Colorflow Solutions and so many others who remained anonymous.’
