SOL PLAATJE INSTITUTE OFFERING A MEDIA MANAGEMENT COURSE

The Sol Plaatje Institute for Media Leadership (SPI), Rhodes University, South Africa, is running a short course on Essentials of Newspaper Management for print media managers at the SPI in Grahamstown from 11-15 March 2013.

This intensive, five-day training programme includes the following sessions: Media Leadership; Managing the Team; Managing Editorial; Marketing, Advertising and Branding; Strategic Planning; Editorial Independence and Media Ethics; and Managing the Budget. Sessions are led by industry experts.

The SPI courses emphasise interactive classroom learning and knowledge sharing, and represent a very useful platform to network with managers and organisations spanning across the African continent.

All short courses are fully certified and accredited on the National Qualifications Framework at Level 6.  

The course costs R6500, and includes full course certification, all course materials, lunches/teas and a closing dinner on Thursday night.
