The new Ricoh Pro VC40000 features the TotalFlow Print Server R600A with its high performance digital front end optimised for advanced workflow management and easier production of complex, data-driven direct mail and transactional output.
‘It’s got the flexibility of the VC60000 and the performance of the InfoPrint 5000,’ said Frank de Afonseca, who heads up Ricoh SA production printing business. ‘It has separate black and colour print head arrays so you get cost-effective output and the optional fifth print head array means you also get more fluid choices, such as MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) and security inks.’
The Pro VC40000 works at up to 120 metres per minute, which means it can produce 100,000 A4 images per hour on stocks from 40 to 250 gsm, making it capable of producing lightweight books to high coverage postcards.
Ricoh ProcessDirector supports transactional and direct mail workflows for maximum throughput to help ensure 100% output time and quality.
TotalFlow Print Server provides native support for PDF, PDF/VT and AFP together with JDF and advanced colour management. It also provides an easy operator interface.
The device can be configured in many different ways. It is compatible with a number of workflow monitoring and management software tools, which means customers can choose the best options for their needs. The platform was also designed to incorporate future enhancements and field upgrades to protect customer investments by being adaptable to changing market conditions.
