The founders of Pentawards, Jean Jacques and Brigitte Evrard decided to give a Special Pentawards to Absolut Vodka, because of its diversity in unity and its Absolut brand creativity. This trophy was awarded during the 7th Pentawards Trophy Ceremony, which took place on the 21st of September 2013 in Barcelona, representing Absolut was Anna Kamjou, Global Director Design Strategist of the Absolut Company.
There are few brands that keep their DNA alive and unspoiled. The Absolut Vodka brand is part of this group of brands. The Absolut Vodka packaging and communication materials stand out by their originality and their scrupulous buts creative, innovative and surprising elements of the brand, mainly the distinctive shape of the Absolut Vodka bottle. There are several adverts based only on the shape of the packaging, all different but all similar in style, created by the TBWA agency, and dozens of outfits worn by the bottle in limited editions, without limits.
Pentawards is a major worldwide competition devoted to packaging design in all forms, and is open to everybody in all countries who are associated with the creation and marketing of packaging. The winners receive bronze, silver, gold, platinum or diamond Pentawards according to the creative quality of their work.
Packaging design from the world over created or brought out in 2012/13 has been judged by an international jury that selected the winners in accordance with the creative quality of the work submitted.
