Visitors could see Konica Minolta South Africa’s solutions with special modules added on to maximise overall print production efficiency at the recent Africa Print expo, held at Gallagher Estate from 11-13 September. The event was a great success for Konica Minolta, which won the Best in Show award for its stand, and a cheque for R5000.
The award is judged by independent judges and chosen by the FESPA and Printing SA judges from all categories of expo exhibitors who are Printing SA members. Konica Minolta also snagged second place in the Mega Floor Space category. Independent judges visited each stand at the expo and evaluated them according to design, staff friendliness and professionalism.
A diverse spectrum of potential clients from across the industry visited the company’s stand – from copy shop owners, through to those in the retail and manufacturing sector. There was a huge interest in Konica Minolta’s banner-printing capabilities, featuring lengths of up to 1300mm, and duplex-printing functionality, in one single-pass paper length of up to 760mm.

At the stand, it was combined with an SD-513 saddle-stitcher booklet maker with 3-edge trimming, as well as the IQ-501 Inline Auto Inspection system – hardware for quality diagnosis and detection of any faults such as paper wastage, wrong toner or spots.
The Konica Minolta AccurioLabel 190 system benefits from stable colour consistency and 1200 x 1200dpi offset-style quality. No pre-coating is required. The label press comes with 2 web guiding systems as a standard. Converters benefit from its ease of operation, production flexibility, fast turnaround and variable data printing capabilities, as well as world-class support and service.
The C3080 series is a digital colour press with advanced features to help businesses expand into new markets and develop new revenue streams. It is renowned for durable performance, ready-made print products, reduced power consumption, image quality, comprehensive media processing and ease of use.
The Africa Print Expo was an opportunity to win new clients and to speak to existing clients on how their Konica Minolta products are performing. People from as far afield as Tanzania paid a visit to the stand, seeking advice on equipment sourced from their respective home suppliers and looking to procure products that are unavailable outside South Africa. The intense interest was a strong vote of confidence in Konica Minolta South Africa’s wide national footprint and extensive inventory.
‘Africa Print 2019 was a success,’ said Edmund Jacobs, manager: production print at Konica Minolta South Africa. ‘We are now processing the visitor data from our stand. The real work begins now.’
