Komori Finishing Solution Streamlines Production

Komori Finishing Solution Eases Production

At the core of Solopress’ success is its strategic investment in cutting-edge postpress and finishing equipment. To maintain high production speeds and meet growing demand, the company has continually upgraded its finishing capabilities. The recent addition of the Komori MBO T800.1 folding machine exemplifies this commitment, significantly boosting efficiency in long-run folding jobs.

‘The decision to invest in the T800.1 was made after a thorough evaluation of our needs and available options,’ explained Nathan Harvey-Bignell, Solopress’ Senior Finishing Manager. ‘Our operators played an essential role in the selection process, visiting to see the machine first-hand before the purchase. Their feedback confirmed that this was the right choice for our operations.’

Since its installation, the MBO T800.1 has streamlined workflow and optimised long-run folding jobs, allowing Solopress to maintain its high-speed production and meet dispatch deadlines seamlessly. Operating in a 24/7 environment, the machine processes both coated and uncoated stocks, primarily folding signatures for book production and long-run standard folds.

‘Our finishing team has been extremely pleased with the T800.1,’ he added. ‘Its ease of setup and user-friendly design allow our operators to get the best performance out of the equipment. The result is increased efficiency and the ability to handle greater workloads without compromising on quality.’

Solopress is dedicated to enhancing its services and sustainability initiatives. The company continues to refine its print procurement solutions, offering trade print services, automated ordering via Soloflo, and brand consistency management through Brand Central. Additionally, its Solopress Green range provides eco-friendly print options, with recycled paper stocks, FSC-certified materials, and carbon offsetting options.
