The Xerox Versant 280 Press is an all-in-one, ever evolving and field-proven profit builder. Users can take automation to the extreme with click-simple automated colour quality with full spectrum colour management hardware and software tools. Altron Document Solutions (ADS) has installed a Xerox Versant 280 at Minuteman Press Montague Gardens.
The Xerox Versant 280 combines speed and quality with the ability to print on supported stocks up to 400gsm. Versatile media support includes envelopes and stock as small as 98 x 146mm and as long as 330 x 660mm. Labels, tabs and special substrates like synthetics, polyesters, window clings, transfer paper and magnetic stocks are also supported.
In addition, the Xerox Versant 280 Press features toner consistency, coverage, and alignment controls using Xerox’s Simple Image Quality Adjustment (SIQA) automation; closed-loop process controls for colour consistency and Xerox EA Toner with 2400 x 2400dpi Ultra HD (UHD) resolution. It also features 10-bit RIP rendering, even on metallics and specialty toners, and inline finishing options from simple folds and staples to full bleed, square edge face-trimmed booklets.
Minuteman Press’ Aubrey van Veen said, ‘We have been using the Xerox Versant range for many years, and this is the third in the Versant range. All models have been very reliable and provided us with a share of the digital market,’ he said. ‘The Versant 280 is a valuable addition to our production, offering quick turnaround for our customers’ digital requirements.’
Van Veen said that ADS have always been a pleasure to deal with, and that their technicians respond timeously to any issues that they may have.
‘In 2020, print volumes dropped because of Covid, now they are above those of 2019,’ said John De Beer, ADS national account manager for Minuteman Press South Africa. ‘That’s why two machines, a Versant 180 and now a Versant 280, are required to handle the print volumes and provide great customer service (at Minuteman Press Montague Gardens).’
