At the 2025 Sustain Conference in Paris, BOBST was honoured with the Outstanding Programme Management Award for its achievements in sustainable procurement. This recognition from EcoVadis highlights BOBST’s strategic vision, execution, and excellence in driving sustainability across its supply chain.
BOBST’s commitment to sustainability has been further reinforced by its EcoVadis Silver Medal, awarded in 2023 and 2024. With an improved score of 69 in 2024, BOBST ranks in the top 15% of companies assessed globally, well above the industry benchmark of 51. This recognition underscores the company’s dedication to continuous improvement in environmental, social, and ethical performance.
Each year, EcoVadis recognises companies demonstrating outstanding sustainability practices with their suppliers. This year, BOBST was selected for its comprehensive sustainable procurement programme, which has enhanced supplier engagement and embedded sustainability into procurement processes.
BOBST’s success in sustainable procurement is the result of a well-defined vision and structured approach. The company has established a clear procurement strategy, embedding sustainability into its policies and objectives. This strategy is not just theoretical — it is actively executed across the business, with 68% of supplier spend covered by sustainability monitoring, engaging over 700 suppliers to ensure compliance with high environmental and ethical standards.
Strong leadership support from both Corporate Purchasing and Sustainability teams has played a crucial role in driving these efforts forward. Sustainability is not seen as an isolated initiative but as an integral part of procurement and supply chain management.
Beyond policies and leadership, BOBST has taken a practical, hands-on approach to ensure real impact. The company has built an Ambassadors’ Network, providing on-site training, organising supplier meetings, and maintaining regular progress reporting to foster collaboration and accountability.
To bring this programme to life, 150 purchasing team members across all plants and key suppliers have been actively engaged, ensuring the programme is effectively implemented at every level of the supply chain.
‘As Head of Corporate Sustainability at BOBST, I am honoured to see Gaëtan Madies and the team recognised with the EcoVadis ‘Outstanding Programme Management’ award, reflecting our shared commitment to a more sustainable value chain,’ said Sylvain Lieb, Head of Corporate Sustainability.
Through responsible sourcing and supply chain management, BOBST ensures: operational excellence and waste reduction, optimising productivity and minimising resource consumption; compliance with evolving regulations and ESG standards, reducing risk and supporting customers’ sustainability commitments; supply chain resilience and transparency, ensuring ethical, responsible sourcing and reducing operational disruptions; cost efficiency and performance, leveraging sustainable materials and streamlined processes to enhance machine reliability and long-term value.
This award marks a milestone in BOBST’s journey, but their work continues. The company remain focused on: expanding sustainable solutions from suppliers to further enhance the efficiency and performance of machines; advancing carbon emissions measurement and implementing targeted reduction strategies to help customers meet their climate goals; strengthening sustainability monitoring across the entire value chain, ensuring continuous improvement and industry leadership.
