ACTEGA Showcasing Label And Packaging Solutions In Chicago

ACTEGA will showcase its latest solutions designed to address converters’ increasing need for improved print performance, regulatory compliance and sustainability. ACTEGA’s label and packaging technologies, primers, coatings and inks will include the new ACTSmartTM water-based Infusion Film Ink System, ACTDigi® LEP Primer, SafeShield UV-LED inks and ECOLEAF on-demand metallisation technology.

The company will exhibit its solutions at LOUPE Americas (September 15-17, Chicago, USA). A diverse range of samples from ACTEGA’s advanced inks and coatings portfolio for pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, and in-mould labels will also be on display.

ACTEGA’s new ACTSmartTM Infusion Film Ink System is a next generation water-based solution offering outstanding print performance and flexibility for shrink and surface print applications on both supported and un-supported films and plastics. An advanced, reliable self-cross linking shrink ink system, this new solution eliminates the need for a catalyst typically used to gain adhesion, flexibility and the water resistance needed with shrink applications. As a result, ink management is simplified and press-side operations optimised, while delivering consistent, repeatable, quality results, at scale.

After a standard 24-hour cure, converters can achieve full physical and chemical performance, even for the most demanding shrink applications, such as those requiring heat resistance above 148°C or resistance to water and soap. The ACTSmartTM Infusion Film Ink System is also designed to support standardised workflows and database-driven systems for improved efficiency and scalability.

ACTDigi® LEP Primer will also be central to the ACTEGA showcase. Developed in partnership with HP for the HP Indigo 6K, 6K+ and 8K Digital Press series, this water-based primer enables superior print quality, improved ink adhesion, and supports advanced embellishments. It achieves outstanding results across a wide range of substrates, including coated/uncoated paper, synthetics, and metallised materials. The primer is also optimised for low consumption, makes regular cleaning simple, and is compliant with stringent regulations including Swiss Ordinance and Nestlé’s stringent quality requirements.

ACTEGA’s SafeShield UV-LED inks will be also be a feature of the booth. Designed for use in low migration applications, the SafeShield range exemplifies how ACTEGA’s regulatory expertise is applied to meet the demands of more than seven different industry regulations in one product line. Ideal for indirect food contact, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging, these inks put consumer safety at the forefront and enable converters to confidently adhere to a very complex and rigorous regulatory process established for the labels and packaging industry.

ACTEGA will also highlight ECOLEAF, a unique, on-demand metallisation technology that enables stunning effects while significantly reducing carbon emissions. Setting the new standard for metallic label embellishment, packaging decorated with on-demand metallisation is now hitting the supermarket shelves, proving that sustainable, digitally printed metallic decoration can meet the quality standards and volumes required by global brands.

‘Converters today are under pressure to strike an uncompromising and critical balance between productivity, regulatory compliance and print quality,’ said Mell C Bishop III, Global Market Manager Labels at ACTEGA in North America.

‘As such, we’re focused on helping our customers navigate these increasingly complex industry expectations while ensuring they achieve maximum productivity. Whether that’s supporting the growth of digital production, improving press performance, simplifying regulatory compliance or enabling applications with exceptional functionality, sustainable benefits or outstanding shelf appeal. Our solutions are designed to help converters produce labels and packaging that overcome today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities.’
