Printing SA Hosts Career Day To Attract Young Talent To The Printing And Signage Industry

Printing SA’s career day for its Northern and Central Chambers was hosted at Shereno Printers in Boksburg on 30 November 2023. The goal of the event was to attract students to the signage, printing, packaging and visual communications industry, as well as to highlight the potential for opportunity and growth in pursuing a career in this sector. Africa Print were media partners of the event. 

The opening welcome was presented by Andrew Tinker, Board Member of Printing SA and Managing Director of Boksburg Print.

Jermaine Naicker, Managing Director at Printing SA, followed with a presentation encouraging students to enter the vast printing and packaging industries. He spoke to the diverse and evolving landscape of the industry, expanding it to include not only product, packaging and branding, but also visual communications and advertising. He encouraged the students to think about the impact these industries have on everyday life and the opportunity for innovation and creativity that lie in a career within them.

Vanashree Pinto from Printing SA discussed training and development opportunities in the printing and packaging industries. Pinto informed the students about the range of courses Printing SA provides, which would equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in these fields.

To conclude the presentations, Sean Levy from Personalised Image Printers gave valuable insights into entrepreneurship within the printing industry. He highlighted the valuable contributions that the new workforce of problem solvers and innovators could make to the industry.

The career day concluded with a tour of Shereno Printers, provided by Rithesh Nundlal, who gave students practical insight into the industry as a whole.
