Printing SA officially opened its new premises at an event on 11 November that celebrated the organisation’s move to 575 Lupton Drive, Midrand. The building is large enough to accommodate its National Office, Central Chamber and Training College as well as Printsecure and Two Sides South Africa, under one roof.
Felleng Yende, CEO, FP&M Seta, was there to cut the ribbon, marking the official opening of the premises.
‘This is a very important occasion for us, celebrating the opening of our premises. Having the Training College within the premises means we can now exert proper control over this division,’ said Patrick Lacy, outgoing CEO, Printing SA. ‘We believe that great things are going to come from this property and that it will stand us in good stead well into the future.’
‘By consolidating our National Office, Central Chamber and Training College into one location, we are able to streamline our service offerings to our members. We have also revised our company structure to incorporate a National Board. The board is made up of representative Chairpersons and Chamber Directors from the Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Central and Northern chambers of Printing SA, said Steve Thobela, CEO designate of Printing SA.
‘I look forward to the exciting new chapter in the life of Printing SA as we settle into our new address and focus on serving and supporting our members. We aim to promote industry related training and education via our Regional Training Colleges in an attempt to sustain our industry and support economic growth in South Africa,’ added Thobela.
‘Midrand was selected as the ideal location given its proximity to the greater Gauteng area as well as its accessibility for members and learners to the premisses via road and train transport links. It offered a premises configured according to our needs, that was large enough to accommodate Printing SA,’ said Colin de Jager, Director of the Central Chamber.
