Konica Minolta South Africa continues to give to local communities.
Learners of Kloofview Primary School, Rustenburg gathered for a special tree planting assembly on 2 May.

Konica Minolta South Africa (KMSA) donated 40 trees to the school. Staff volunteers from the KMSA Rustenburg branch joined the school to assist with the tree planting on the day.
Sipho Mathe from Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA) led the tree planting demonstration where learners were taught how to plant a tree the ‘FTFA’ way. The learners, teachers and KMSA staff 28 trees on the day.

This forms part of a donation of 1072 trees to a total of 36 schools in the Rustenburg area by KMSA. These 1072 trees will offset 395 tonnes of carbon dioxide in their lifetime, while providing shade and increasing biodiversity and access to fresh fruit for the local community. These gifts will keep on giving to the local community and the local environment for upward of 40 years.

‘It's wonderful to work with such an enthusiastic school, that clearly appreciates the value of trees,’ said Emily Jones, of Food & Trees for Africa, ‘KMSA staff volunteers were very enthusiastic in helping to plant as many trees as possible and should be congratulated for their efforts.’

This tree planting forms part of KMSA’s commitment to plant 2993 trees between January and June 2018 and brings the number of trees donated by KMSA to 37,796 since 2008, through the company’s ongoing commitment to ‘green’ South Africa.
