KEMTEK OPENS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

Kemtek Print Solutions celebrated the opening of their brand new Centre of Excellence at their Johannesburg Head office on the 18th of March.

‘This dedicated, state-of-the-art centre aims to be invaluable to customers and suppliers alike, a welcoming venue to experience the industry’s latest products and training in a professional, comfortable and relaxed surrounding,’ said Gavin Van Rensburg the Group MD of Kemtek Imaging Systems Holdings in his welcome. It took five months from conception and design to completion.

Outgoing Chairperson Toekie Rudaizky did his last official address after 55 years in the industry, stating that the rate of change is unabating. Van Rensburg said that it was the end of an era, as Rudaizky had been a great leader and mentor. The incoming Chairman Dave Savage takes the rains on the 1st of April 2014 and he highlighted that the three areas of strength for Kemtek is the Kemtek staff, their principals and their customers.

The Centre of Excellence is a dream come true for Ronen Samuel, VP and GM of HP Indigo/ IHPS EMEA, Graphics Solutions Business, who was at the event to share an overview of the industry and opportunities that exist with the HP Indigo. Samuel handed over a gift to Rudaizky after a 15 year long relationship with HP Indigo. This is the first permanent HP accredited high-tech digital printing and finishing demonstration centre in Africa which also exhibits the capabilities of all the brands Kemtek represents.

The HP Indigo 7600 sheetfed digital press was demonstrated live at the opening. The Duplo finishing range of perfect binders, cutters, creasers, booklet makers and UV coaters were showcased to complement the HP Indigo range.

Springbok and Golden Lions rugby legend Kobus Wiese was the special guest at the function. He shared many anecdotes as well as his four principles that apply to business, sports and life, which include: dedication, determination, discipline and desire.
