Fujifilm South Africa Launch First-Of-Its-Kind Inkjet Model

Africa Print was at Lebone Litho Printers for the launch of the Jet Press 750S High Speed Model, installed by Fujifilm Graphic Communication South Africa. This marked the first installation of the machine in Africa.

The solution is renowned for its ultra-fast turnaround times, speed and shorter on-demand runs that can be personalised.

Keith Michael, Lebone Litho CEO, said that the markets the company is looking at include versatile variable data and secure printing. ‘One of the main reasons we bought this press is that we are looking at secure printing. We’re also looking at things like election ballots and municipal bills.

‘This press is ideal for short to medium runs. We’re able to run anything from 1 up to 1000 on it. The bi-elections and local elections run on a much smaller print run. It’s as close to litho as most printers would want it to be experience-wise,’ said Gary Stockenstroom, Digital Product Manager at Fujifilm Graphic Communication South Africa.

‘It’s the fastest B2 digital sheetfed press on the market at the moment and it can print 5400 sheets an hour. The quality is beyond litho (1200 by 1200), with 30 billion droplets per second, and the exact same paper stock that a user would use on their litho press.’

With the development of technology in Africa and with the aim of putting girls at the forefront of it all, Lebone invited female learners from Jordao College to the event.
