FUJIFILM LAUNCHES XMF COLORPATH SYNC CLOUD-BASED COLOUR CALIBRATION SYSTEM AT FESPA

1007

The company has launched XMF ColorPath Sync, a cloud-based colour calibration system that allows printers to set up and manage compliance to printing standards including, for instance, ISO 12647-2. The company also announced the commercial availability of the Acuity LED 1600 UV inkjet printer at the expo as well as unveiling its portfolio of new euromedia products

XMF ColorPath Sync

The product helps to streamline the process by which printing devices are set up to the ISO 12647-2 standard.  Unlike other colour calibration systems, XMF ColorPath Sync is cloud-based. The user interface is a web browser and because no local client software is required, it can be used on any workstation within a print company with users benefitting automatically from any updates to the system.

When used with Fujifilm’s Pro-File brand of screen and UV inkjet inks, which have been optimised to facilitate cross-process colour control, printers with both screen and wide format equipment have a simple and reliable way of managing compliance to target printing standards.

The colour charts required for calibration are measured by industry standard spectrophotometers (such as the X-Rite Eye-One) that are plugged directly into the web browser. To improve productivity, the charts used for calibration are smaller than current charts used for this process, which not only allows them to be read more quickly, but also allows them to be placed on live work for on the fly calibration. In addition, the calibration curves that are generated in the cloud by XMF ColorPath Sync are automatically downloaded into the RIPs driving the colour devices, further improving automation and production efficiency.  An analysis of current and historic calibration data collected online can be displayed directly in the web browser or used to automatically generate PDF reports so the results can be easily sent to any stakeholder who needs the information.

Euromedia products:

Showcasing the company’s new euromedia brand image, the products have been selected to provide customers with a wider choice of media for a variety of applications. With Fujifilm’s emphasis on service and support, the brand is now even more focussed on helping customers to select the correct print media for their end applications.
