CGS TO SHOWCASE CROSS-FLEET COLOUR AND NEW PACKAGING PRODUCTS AT GRAPH EXPO

CGS will showcase its new ORIS XG Inks and ORIS Transfer Film for Roland devices as well as its new workflow tools, RealPro Packaging Suite & Aproove, at Graph Expo, taking place from 7-9 October in Chicago.

The Complete Package

One of the most talked-about developments at drupa, ORIS XG Inks are a new, extended-gamut eco solvent ink set, including orange and green – giving design and prepress firms the opportunity to prototype their work in full colour – just the way it will print. Managed by CGS’ ORIS Color Tuner // Web software, the combination of Roland VersaCAMM VS and ORIS XG Inks opens up a world of new possibilities.

Equally impressive is the company’s new ORIS Transfer Film line, enabling eco-solvent printing on any substrate. To view packaging, label or other proofs on the actual substrate to be used in print, UV printers are often the only solution. However, not all UV printers have a sufficiently wide colour gamut, or they lack special colours like metallics. ORIS Transfer Film for the Roland VersaCAMM VS is an ideal solution, providing wide-gamut colour capabilities on virtually all substrates. The printed film is easily laminated to the selected media, for a vivid and accurate proof of the finished product. In addition, CGS-ORIS customers may also create virtual prototypes of package designs with RealVue 3D Packager.

CGS’ new RealPro Packaging Suite, is an Adobe Illustrator based workflow system and 3D visualisation environment for labeling and packaging print service providers. As part of this powerful suite, CGS’ new RealPro Toolkit automates the label and packaging production process and significantly reduces operational costs. The software provides modular, scalable, easy-to-use Illustrator plug-ins for trapping, step and repeat, warping, and more.

The packaging industry has enormous potential for growth, but it has to deal with critical colour issues in an increasingly competitive digital market, said company CEO Trevor Haworth. Just as we helped publishers and commercial printers thrive in the midst of this kind of change—with our ORIS software and consumables—so too we are helping every member of the label and packaging supply chain, from designers, to brand managers, and service providers.

In addition, CGS will be showcasing Aproove, the simple solution for reviewing, and approving projects via secure Web connections – with no file transfer required. Aproove’s intuitive approach allows multiple decision makers—even those with little technical or prepress experience—to easily and efficiently participate through invitation via browser or mobile device.
