The new die-cutter is the second SP 106 ER that specialist print and packaging manufacturer Huaxin Colour Printing based in China, has installed.

It removes the need to manually strip waste from die-cut work, thanks to its innovative inline separation capabilities, enabling piles of blanks to be delivered straight to the folder-gluers. The die-cutter drives efficiency along the entire production line by improving the performance of downstream processes, reducing costs and enhancing end-product quality.

Notably, this is the eighth BOBST machine installation at Huaxin Colour Printing. Prior to this latest acquisition, the company was already operating five BOBST die-cutting machines and two BOBST folder-gluers. The company is focused on the production of corrugated and folding carton boxes and is one of the most well-known packaging and printing companies in the food, pharmaceuticals, personal care, cosmetics, electronic appliances, toys, wine packaging and paper products markets. At present, the company provides high-quality packaging and printing services for more than 140 domestic and international customers.

‘The new die-cutter represents a big investment that has had an immediate impact on our productivity and efficiency. This second SP 106 ER is part of an ambitious company growth strategy to enable us to handle higher volume packaging runs and increase our capacity even further to produce more complex jobs,’ said Gao Mingxing, Vice General Manager of Huaxin Colour Printing. ‘The BOBST die-cutters have optimised our folding carton manufacturing process and will enable us to be more competitive in an increasingly demanding market. Brands and retailers require packaging that engages with and responds to consumers’ requirements and desires. The speed of this machine allows us to meet even urgent needs at any time. By optimising our process and productivity, the SP 106 ER delivers both time-to-market and high-end packaging.’

‘The SP 106 ER improves both quality and productivity across the entire carton conversion operation. Highly automated and equipped with the advanced HMI SPHERE, it provides easy set-up, fast changeover and therefore maximum uptime. BOBST technologies such as Autoplaten and Centerline guarantee perfect die-cutting and stripping, which will convince even the most demanding clients,’ said Sky Ouyang, Sales Manager of South China Region, BOBST Shanghai.

‘During the installation, commissioning and training period, the BOBST Shanghai Service technicians were meticulous in their work and completed tasks with high efficiency, precision and on time,’ said Gao Mingxing. ‘Bobst Shanghai conducted comprehensive equipment operation and maintenance training for our operators and our maintenance personnel, demonstrating BOBST’s know-how and professionalism. At present, the SP 106 ER has entered the trial production stage and our operations are efficient and stable, supporting our company’s production to fight against Covid-19.’

‘With a speed of 8000 sheets/hour, the SP 106 ER has a significant impact across a whole business by reducing costs, improving quality and productivity. BOBST makes inline blank separation cost-effective and simple to incorporate into any processing line through a range of tooling solutions, and with the backing of an extensive service support network,’ said Wilson Huang, Sales Director of Bobst Shanghai.
