Tanzania-based commercial printing company DeskTop Productions (DTP) operations has deployed the first HP Indigo B2 sheetfed digital press in East Africa, having brought the HP Indigo 10000 into its growing business to pave the way for digital expansion and offer customers exceptional quality at fast speeds, affordably.

The print market is evolving to demand shorter print lead times, low waste requirements and the need to keep print exciting and relevant. The commercial market thus presents an opportunity for business growth. However, the minimum quantities required to make offset feasible are gradually becoming obsolete as the economic landscape shifts globally. This is felt especially in Tanzania, where the majority of printing is done by small-to-medium enterprises that simply do not have the means to place large orders. Digital printing overcomes this challenge by allowing for affordable printing of small quantities without compromising on quality. The investment in the HP Indigo 10000 fills a current void in DTP’s operations.

In 1991, Hanif Abdulrasul and Shafiq Abdulrasul started Tanzania’s first graphic design and pre-press studio. Throughout the decades, the philosophy and vision of staying true to print craftsmanship has seen DTP grow into a highly influential printer in Tanzania, working with leading companies within East Africa.

‘The increased efficiency offered by the HP Indigo 10000 allows DTP to attract business ventures that were previously difficult to absorb. This includes variable publications, packaging, and medium-scaled high-end prints,’ said Shafiq Abdulrasul at DTP. ‘The HP Indigo 10000 provides a 200% increase in output compared to our current digital setup.’

HP Indigo 10000 digital press is a B2 sheet-fed digital press that produces a wide commercial application range with breakthrough print quality, high productivity, and wide versatility.
